BROADCAST TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
To ensure zero delivery rejections from premium channel partners, every title submitted to Northbound undergoes strict automated and human technical QC.
Master Video Requirements
- Containers: MOV, MP4, MPEG, TS, MKV, OGG.
- Codecs: Apple ProRes 422 / 422 HQ, Avid DNxHR SQ+, H.264/H.265 high bitrate.
- Resolution & Aspect: Minimum 640px width, even pixel dimensions, 1:1 square pixels. Progressive only.
- Clean Master: No slates, watermarks, social handles, or promotional cards. Require 1 black frame start/end.
Audio & Caption Specs
- Audio Formats: PCM 48 kHz / 16-bit min, AAC/MP3 128kbps+, AC-3 192kbps+.
- Loudness Target: -24 LKFS / ITU-R BS.1770-4 broadcast target threshold.
- English SDH SRT: Required for all titles. Max 43 chars/line, 2 lines max, 25 chars/sec speed limit.
- Artwork 5% Safe Zone: Title text and key imagery must remain inside 5% margins.
